This policy applies to every rental from Crowder Rentals LLC (formerly A&J Time Rentals), whether booked online at crowderrentals.com, by phone, or at our counter at 11401 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. It works together with our Damage Waiver & Deposits, Delivery & Pickup and Terms of Service pages, and with the rental agreement you sign when your order is placed.
Who can rent
- Renters must be at least 18 years old and present a valid government-issued driver’s license or ID.
- Rentals are placed on a credit or debit card in the renter’s name. Businesses may apply for on-account billing; see Business accounts below.
- Delivery orders require a valid driver’s license at checkout. Pickup orders show it at the counter.
- Operators of powered equipment are expected to have experience with that class of machine. Our staff will review the controls with you, but we do not provide operator training and may decline a rental if we believe the equipment cannot be used safely.
Rental periods and rates
- Rates are published by the hour, day, week and 4-week period. Every product page shows the minimum rental period for that item, and the booking calendar applies it automatically when you choose your times.
- The online booking calendar prices your exact start and end time and applies the lowest applicable tier for that duration. A day is a 24-hour period from the start time you reserve.
- Time counts from the reserved start until the equipment is checked in at our yard or collected by our driver, including hours the yard is closed. We are closed Sundays; a Saturday pickup returned Monday morning is priced accordingly by the calendar.
- Rental charges are for time out, not time used. Weather, scheduling changes and equipment left idle are still rental time. If a job is rained out, call us and we will do what we can.
- Extensions must be arranged before the return time by calling (303) 423-7448. Equipment kept past the reserved return without an extension is charged at the applicable rate for the additional time and may be reported as unreturned.
What is included and what is extra
- Equipment leaves fueled, serviced and inspected, with the standard bucket, wand, nozzles or bits listed on the product page.
- Fuel: our diesel equipment — tow-behind air compressors, Toro Dingos, skid steers and mini excavators — goes out full and should come back full. Diesel used and not replaced is charged at return. Gasoline-powered equipment carries no fuel charge at all: we refuel it ourselves between rentals. Propane cylinders are exchanged or refilled at the counter.
- Consumables — diamond blades, sandpaper, grinding discs, cleaning solution, cutting teeth — are sold separately or rented by the day where noted. Blades and bits are inspected at return and charged for excessive wear or breakage.
- Trailers rent with the coupler, safety chains and lights. Ball mounts, ramps, straps and chains are separate rental items.
- Colorado and local sales tax (currently 8% in Wheat Ridge) and the damage waiver are added to every rental at checkout.
Reservations, changes and cancellations
- Online reservations require 24 hours’ notice and can be made up to 60 days ahead. Same-day rentals are welcome by phone or at the counter.
- Your card is authorized when the reservation is placed; the refundable security deposit hold is placed when the rental starts. See Damage Waiver & Deposits.
- To change or cancel a reservation, call (303) 423-7448. There is no cancellation fee, and we do not charge for a missed pickup — but please call, so we can put the unit back on the board for the next customer.
Your responsibilities
- Use the equipment only for its intended purpose, within its rated capacity, and in accordance with the manufacturer’s safety instructions and all laws and permits.
- Do not let anyone else operate the equipment, sublet it, or take it outside Colorado without our written permission.
- Keep the equipment secure. You are responsible for loss or theft during the rental; report either to us and to the police immediately.
- Stop using any equipment that malfunctions and call us. Do not attempt repairs. We will repair or replace the unit as quickly as we can; rental time is credited for confirmed mechanical failures not caused by misuse.
- Return the equipment clean and in the condition it left. Normal dirt is expected and free. If a unit comes back with caked mud, cured concrete, paint or debris that takes real work to clean, a cleaning fee of up to $200 applies — we look at it with you at return and tell you then, so it never turns up later as a surprise on the invoice.
- Trailers: you are responsible for towing within your vehicle’s rating, checking lights and tire pressure during the rental, and any damage caused by overloading, curbing or backing.
Returns
- Return to the yard during business hours, Monday–Saturday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, and check in with staff — a rental is not closed until we have inspected the unit. Do not leave equipment in the lot after hours without prior arrangement.
- For delivered equipment, have it ready and accessible at the agreed pickup time. Shut it down, leave the keys as instructed, and make sure our driver can reach it.
- After inspection we release the security deposit hold. Any fuel, cleaning, damage or late charges are itemized on your final invoice.
Business accounts
Contractors and businesses that rent regularly can apply for on-account billing. Approved accounts receive monthly statements, can authorize employees to pick up, and can charge rentals to a purchase order. Ask at the counter or email us to apply; approval is subject to credit review.
Questions
Call (303) 423-7448 or email [email protected]. We would rather answer a question before a rental than sort out a problem after it.
